Groma Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 17 July 2026

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of the Groma browser extension and the documents it produces (test-spec documents, run and edit links, and reports — together, "Groma"). By installing or using Groma you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Groma.

2. What Groma is

Groma is a tool for manual, human-guided testing. It records a flow through a web app as a shareable spec, then guides a tester through that flow step by step. Groma never decides whether a step passed or failed; the person running the test is the sole arbiter of every verdict.

3. Authorized testing only

To load real apps inside its device frame, Groma modifies how your browser enforces certain site protections within its own runner tab — with your explicit, one-time acknowledgement. Specifically, it strips anti-framing response headers, prevents frame-busting, relaxes the framed site's cookies, and disables the framed site's service worker, each scoped to the runner tab.

Some applications cannot be framed at all. For those, Groma automatically — or at your choice — runs the flow in a normal, top-level browser tab instead, with Groma's step panel floated over the page. In this mode none of the framing bypasses above apply; the app runs exactly as it would if you'd opened it yourself.

You may only use Groma on applications you own or are explicitly authorized to test. You are solely responsible for:

4. Your content

Specs, links, screenshots, videos, and reports are created locally and belong to you. They can capture whatever appeared on screen — including personal or confidential data from the tested app. You are responsible for what your exported files and links contain and for where you share them. A run or edit link embeds the full spec: anyone holding the link can read it.

5. Test results are human judgments

A Groma report records the verdicts a human tester chose. Groma makes no guarantee that a recorded flow covers what matters, that a passing run means the application works, or that a spec replays identically as the application changes. Do not rely on Groma as the sole gate for decisions where failure would cause serious harm.

6. No warranty

Groma is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Framing real-world applications is inherently best-effort: some apps will not load in the frame, and browser changes may alter behavior at any time.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and maintainers of Groma shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from or related to your use of — or inability to use — Groma, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Changes to Groma and to these terms

Groma may change or discontinue features at any time. These terms may be updated; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current revision. Continuing to use Groma after a revision means you accept it.
